"Kissing Cousins"

We took a field trip to the the Children's Discovery Museum with many of our cousins. We had a great day of painting a VW bug (yes a real VW), building towers, shopping at a pretend grocery store, riding a police motorcycle and much more. We stayed for over 3 hours and the kids could have stayed longer if we didn't need to get home for naps!! A fun day was had by all!!

Papa Utah (the Pro) took the everyone out golfing several times while in Palm Springs. What a treat for everyone to have his expert help and advice.

Cole wanted a bath in the jetted hot tub--we filled the tub with water but turned on the jets to soon and water went spraying everywhere! Cole thought that was so funny!

Every year we take the kids to Palm Springs for a little Rest & Relaxation. Well maybe not R & R but a least a little FUN!! This year we were lucky enough to have both Lance and my parents, a few uncles and lots of cousins come to join in on the fun. We had a blast swimming, golfing, working out, playing tennis, riding the boats and tram and just hang out together. Meals were a little crazy, at times we had up to 2o plus to feed! It was a great vacations and great memories were had by all!

Point Lobos

In May, Lance and I took the kids to Lance's old stomping grounds (Pebble Beach and Carmel) for a weekend of hiking, playing at the beach and a visit to the aquarium. We started with a picnic at Point Lobos. It was a beautiful sunny day (unusual for the coast) but there was definately a chill in the air. The kids enjoyed salami and cheese on sourdough.
On a clear day, the Peninsula is probably one of the most beatiful places on earth! We took the kids hiking on two different trails. As you can tell from the pictures both trails had amazing views.

Here We Go!!

The Geertsen Family is now stepping up to the 20th century and joining the blogging family! We've really enjoyed reading some of your blogs, so we thought it was time to start one of our own.

We don't have a lot of time right now, but here are a few tidbits about what we've been up to lately:

Chase - Chase's favorite sport is whatever sport he's currently doing. Right now he's playing Fall baseball. This summer Chase tried out and made a traveling baseball team. His coaches include a local baseball teaching pro and his brother, who recently pitched several years in the Major Leagues. The neat thing about this league is that the tournaments use major league rules, so Chase is soaking it up. This weekend his bat was really hot - 2 triples and 1 double, including 6RBI's. Chase also pitched several innings, but threw a few to many balls in the dirt in the second inning. We can't image he'll be able to keep up this pace every game, but the family is loving cheering him on. Chase is also currently taking guitar lessons, but we'll tell you more about that later.

Sierra - Our sweet girl is surrounded by boys, but she definitely holds her own. She's probably the busiest of the bunch right now with Mustang soccer, gymnastics lessons, Jazz classes and violin lessons. I think she needs a few more activities (just kidding). Her soccer team is the called the "Pink Dragons" and her specialty is dribbling. Sierra can navigate with the best of them - she even made a goal in her first game this year! She's got some great friends in school, but lost her best pal (Abby Harris) when they moved to Utah in August.

Cole - This dude is the comedian of the family. He'll crack you up with some of his comments and we plan on adding them to the blog as we hear them. He recently told his Mom that when she gets older she can stand up and go to the bathroom like him. Cole started pre-school this month and had a few tears the first couple of days, but having his buddy Delaney in his class is helping a lot. Cole's also taking swimming lesson at Little Dippers. Cole's been trying to direct the swimming class, but finally gave in to the program this week.

Drew - He's a man on a mission right now at 11 months old. He's very mobile right now, but not yet walking. Drew is a busy body and constantly tinkering with toys, gadgets, tupperware or whatever he can get his hands on. The kids love him to death and we can't image life without this little man. Drew's a smiley little dude, especially after having tubes in his ears last week. Hopefully no new ear infections.

Tayva and Lance - Ok, after reading the above, you know what we're up to - survival mode. It's just our phase of life right now, but everything is centered around the kids activities. Things will be a little less crazy when Lance makes it through October 15th (extended due date for filing tax returns). We'll tell you more of what we're up to on a later post.

We'll that's it for now. Stay tuned for future updates with hopefully some pictures!
